In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are shining a light on Carter Forever Strong, an organization that continuously strives to make a difference for kids fighting cancer. Read on to learn more about Carter's story, the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF), and ways to support the cause.

Carter's Story

According to the Carter Strong Forever Community, "Carter was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 2, 2015. He underwent chemotherapy treatments at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) for 21 months before finding out he relapsed on July 5, 2017, essentially starting over at day one of 3.5 years of treatment. When he passed suddenly due to a rare infection that occurred as a result of chemotherapy treatment, it sent shock waves to the community and all who knew him, loved him, and cared for him. Carter was a fighter, a leukemia warrior, who faced every battle and challenge head on and usually with a smile. He was a ball of light who lived life with passion, tenacity, and immense love."

Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation

The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) is an organization that identifies and invests in cutting-edge research that hopes to find a cure for childhood cancer. Since 1982, the lives of many children and their families have been profoundly impacted by the treatment, care, and prevention of childhood cancers. Through the tireless dedication and contributions of staff, researchers, partners and volunteers, PCRF has raised over $44 million dollars for pediatric cancer research.

Support Carter Strong Forever

Today, Carter Strong Forever is still going strong. Although it is a smaller affiliate of the sockprints Giving Program, their impact has been huge, as seen by their dedication and success in raising over their fundraising goal of $35,000 for the PCRF. To further raise awareness and funds for the Carter Strong Forever community, we've created Carter Strong Forever Team Socks. These crew socks are sold by the pair in black and white in the following sizes: small (youth), medium (ladies) and large (men's). For each purchase of these custom printed socks, we will donate a portion of the profits to the organization, which gets added to their fundraising efforts for the annual Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Walk.
