There's lots to be thankful for this season. Friends, family, and especially our nation's heroes. When searching for organizations for the sockprints Giving Program, there was no doubt that Pets For Vets, a non-profit helping veterans and saving pets, was a good match.

Today, we're sitting down with one of sockprints Co-Founders, Jann, to dig deep on the company's involvement. Find out more information and our inspiration behind this amazing cause.

Q: What is Pets For Vets?

Since 2009, Pets For Vets has been building bridges by connecting our country's military veterans with rescued animals. According to the American Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals (ASPCA), 6.5 million dogs and cats enter shelters annually. Plus, as said by Joan Hart of USA Today, as many as 20% of returning military veterans suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). Together, each provide the other unconditional love and support, easing stress, depression, loneliness and anxiety by sharing a unique bond provides them both with a whole new “leash” on life.

Q: Why Pets For Vets?

Sockprints recently added a new group of custom pet photo socks to our line, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to support a cause with a mission focusing on the needs of rescue and shelter animals. One of our employees suggested looking into Pets for Vets and we really like their goal of pairing up animals in need with veterans looking for a companion pet. It's a win-win situation with a happy ending!

Q: How do I get started?

With every purchase from our pet photo sock listings tagged with the Pets for Vets logo, we will donate a portion of the profits to support Pets for Vets. All you have to do is place an order and we'll take it from there!

Q: Any advice for new pet owners?

About 2 1/2 years ago our family rescued a stray dog who fit into the household right away. The unconditional love between a pet and family is pretty powerful and my advice to a new pet owner is to embrace it but make sure you are always in charge!

Help veterans find their fur-ever friend. Don't forget that for every purchase from our custom pet photo sock collection, we’ll donate a portion of the profits to Pets For Vets. Make sure to look for the Pets For Vets paw print on the product pages. We thank you for your support!
